Here goes my first entry about playing D&D after several years and my first time playing 5th Edition. I rolled up a dwarven forge cleric at the suggestion of a fellow party member. So far I am enjoying it quite a bit. We are playing in Greyhawk and I am just waiting to be thrown into the demon vs. devil war which my DM historically has preferred, but we shall see if that is where our adventuring path takes us. We have a large party of seven including myself I will go into the groups make up on a later blog. Lets get back to my cleric. Rike is his name and tanking is his game. I went heavy armor and shield, still waiting on plate mail, swinging a warhammer as Moradin would prefer. Wearing chainmail, shield and my blessing of the forge perk has got me at an armor class of 19 at 3rd level. Spell choices so far have been mainly offensive. I have made a great tank so far and continue to do decent damage. Healing is different in this edition due to short and long rests, read a new PHB for an explanation. I have a crossbow but never fire it due to cantrips usually. Going forward I plan on staying full cleric and getting some plate mail to make me even harder to hit. Spell choices are still a bit of a challenge because I have usually used clerics to heal and seems like that is almost a waste of a spell in 5E. If anyone has tips, tricks or comments about 5E please comment below or if you have any specific questions or a blog topic about my D&D game please comment below.
